It\u2019s not so hard to understand that IT services are created by the work of IT professionals.<br class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Therefore its strange that most times IT management (push) or leadership (pull) is not focusing on facilitating the professionals so they can do the job.<br class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" aria-hidden=\"true\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">Professionals needs<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-10151\" src=\"https:\/\/ismportal.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/operating-model-v5-294x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"294\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ismportal.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/operating-model-v5-294x300.jpeg 294w, https:\/\/ismportal.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/operating-model-v5-768x782.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/ismportal.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/operating-model-v5.jpeg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 294px) 100vw, 294px\" \/>In order to work effective and efficient professionals need:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\"><strong>Targets<\/strong> &#8211; know where to go -clear policy and service expectations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\"><strong>People<\/strong> \u2013 clear roles \u2013 who\u2019s doing what, fully staffed, no more work than feasible<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\"><strong>Process<\/strong> \u2013 a compact process model that structures the co-operating and basic handlings<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Product<\/strong> \u2013 tools as ITSM-tooling, user surveys and dashboarding to create insight in the actual service, process and team performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">The primary role of management is facilitating the professional by setting clear targets and organize the way of working (People, Process, Product) of the IT organization.<br class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" aria-hidden=\"true\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">Organizational behavior<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">The behavior of the leader is largely influencing the behavior of the professional.
